Community in shock after child’s body discovered in water drum; teenage suspect arrested.
The town of Senekal has been plunged into deep mourning and disbelief following the tragic discovery of the body of eight-year-old Naledi Ramaisa, who was reported missing earlier this week.
Police confirmed that Naledi’s remains were found concealed inside a water drum at a neighbour’s residence, bringing a devastating end to a search that had gripped the local community and drawn widespread concern.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), a 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the murder. The suspect has allegedly confessed to the killing, claiming the incident was sparked by an accusation that the young girl had been stealing peaches.
