Venda herbalist says decades-old concoction has transformed the lives of struggling men.
Well-known traditional herbalist Thanyani Shonisani, popularly known as Jesus, says he has spent more than three decades helping men who suffer from sexual dysfunction and impotence through traditional remedies rooted in indigenous knowledge.
Born into a family of traditional healers in the 1970s, Shonisani began his journey at a young age, assisting his late father, Mr Tshihume Shonisani, in sourcing medicinal herbs from the dense mountains of the former Venda Bantustan and surrounding areas.
Speaking to Gwen News Agency, Jesus revealed that one of the key ingredients in his treatment involves baboon urine, which he claims plays a critical role in restoring sexual performance in men whose reproductive organs have stopped functioning.
About a decade ago, Jesus made national headlines after one of his clients reportedly suffered an erection that lasted for three days and had to be hospitalised. According to the healer, he was later summoned to the hospital to assist doctors in stabilising the man’s condition.
Relating the incident, Jesus said the client had been given one of his strongest concoctions after struggling with sexual performance for a prolonged period.
“I gave him a concoction made by mixing my special herb — which I cannot disclose for fear of misuse — with mupesu and baboon urine. I instructed him to take one teaspoon once a day for three days, but he overdosed by taking four teaspoons in one day, and all hell broke loose in the bedroom,” he said.
According to Jesus, the man’s wife allegedly fled their home the following day after he demanded repeated sexual encounters.
Jesus explained that collecting baboon urine is a demanding and time-consuming process.
“Baboons urinate at the same spot for up to a year. You have to follow them in the mountains from morning until late in the evening, identify where they urinate, and wait for them to leave before collecting it,” he said.
Despite the challenges, he says he continues the practice out of dedication to his clients.
One of Jesus’ clients, who requested anonymity, said the treatment restored his confidence and vitality.
Now in his early 50s and married to two wives, the man said he was deeply embarrassed when he began experiencing erectile problems.
“I tried different pills and Western medicines, but they only worked for a short time. Since I started using Jesus’ concoction, I feel like a new Mercedes-Benz engine. I only use it once every three months, and I have regained my respect in the bedroom,” he said.
